We are a leading beverage company seeking a highly skilled Asset Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for managing our keg population and ensuring sufficient kegs are available to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Keg Population: Oversee the management of our UK owned keg population, valued at £31m.
  • Long-Term Planning: Develop and maintain a long-term keg tracking tool to forecast future supply for peak periods and identify potential shortages or disruptions to production.
  • Weekly Planning Process: Collaborate with our Italian brewery to ensure timely communication of forecasted keg dispatches and arrivals.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with our brewery and supply planning team to ensure sufficient kegs are available to meet 13-week keg production plans.
  • Investigate Shortfalls: Identify and recommend solutions to improve supply and investigate shortfalls.
  • RTI Monitoring: Monitor and report on Returnable Transport Item (RTI) rates from the market, with recommendations on how to improve or increase rates of return.
  • Keg Supplier Management: Manage relationships with keg suppliers, raise purchase orders, and monitor deliveries to ensure purchases are delivered to schedule.

Long-Term Keg Strategy and Capex Planning

  • Develop Long-Term Keg Tracking Tool: Develop and maintain a long-term keg tracking tool to report on future supply for peak periods and flag any shortages or disruptions to production.
  • Capex Planning: Work with our supply planning manager and finance team to review annual and quarterly capex requirements for keg, cask, and locator board purchases for UK breweries and all UK owned kegs, with a budget of approx. £2m.
  • Contingency Planning: Identify potential contingency plans, including rental keg options.
  • UK Brewery Keg Management: Work with UK breweries to improve keg management processes.
  • Locator Board Purchases: Manage locator board purchases and annual capex requirements.
  • Track Locator Population: Develop the ability to track locator population to ensure sufficient availability to support empty keg movements.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in a relevant area is desirable.
  • Experience: Experience managing or planning kegs/assets in the drinks industry is advantageous.
  • Supply Planning Experience: Preferable to have supply planning, sales, and operational planning experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis, and a background and understanding of planning tools and systems, knowledge of SAP, Adaptive Planning, and SO99 being advantageous.
