We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Colour and Materials Designer to join our team at Contechs. As a key member of our Design department, you will be responsible for leading the Colour and Materials team and delivering high-quality designs that meet our business requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Colour and Materials Team: Oversee the Colour and Materials team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop Colour and Materials Strategies: Research and develop Colour and Materials strategies that align with our business objectives, including market trends, lifestyles, and design principles.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with designers, function groups, marketing, and purchasing teams to ensure proposals meet required standards.
- Represent the Design Team: Represent the Design team at technical and senior meetings, presenting Colour and Materials concepts to senior management and executive level.
- Manage Budget and Resources: Define, submit, and manage the Colour and Materials Design and Development (D&D) budget, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Appraisals and Performance Management: Conduct appraisals and provide performance feedback to junior and senior designers, ensuring high-quality work and team development.
- Design Standards and Process: Contribute to the creation and update of design standards and processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in Colour and Materials design.
- Design Strategy and Identity: Input into the creation and update of design strategy and identity, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Colour and Materials Research: Conduct research and analysis to inform Colour and Materials design decisions, ensuring alignment with market trends and business objectives.
- Project Planning and Management: Develop and manage project plans, ensuring successful project delivery and meeting business objectives.
- Education and Experience: A University Degree in Art and Design or equivalent, with extensive experience as a Colour and Materials Designer, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Leadership and Coaching: Proven experience leading and coaching high-performance teams, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Colour and Materials Expertise: Significant knowledge of automotive/industrial colours and materials, with excellent colour vision and harmony skills.
- Technical Skills: High-level competence in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office, with strong project planning and management skills.
- Personal Attributes: A genuine passion for pushing the boundaries in Colour and Materials Design, with excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
