Job Summary:

Manchester City Council is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Child Protection Lead to protect and promote the welfare of all pupils at the Leo Kelly School. This includes pupils who are taught in the community and in the home due to their health needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, providing guidance and support to teachers and staff, and collaborating with external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard and protect pupils
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on child protection and welfare
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure effective support for vulnerable children and young people
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks to pupils
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to ensure the needs of vulnerable pupils are met

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection and welfare, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team. They will also have a deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and young people and be able to provide guidance and support to staff.
