About the Opportunity

Michael Page (UK) is currently seeking a skilled financial professional to join our client's team as a Part-Time Financial Controller. This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to the company's growth and development while enjoying a balanced work-life schedule.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will oversee the company's financial processes, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance, and strategic financial leadership. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with the Finance Director to drive business upscaling and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Control and Compliance: Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, manage debtor collection and credit control processes, and supervise monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Collaborate with the Finance Director on business upscaling and process improvement initiatives, plan and secure financing arrangements, and provide advice on dividend planning and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Development and Management: Mentor and support the bookkeeper, contributing to their growth into a future Financial Controller role.

Requirements

We seek a qualified financial professional with a balance of technical expertise and strategic insight. Key qualifications include:

  • Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience in financial control, compliance, and long-term financial planning.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to manage both detailed financial processes and high-level strategy.

What We Offer

  • Part-Time Role: Approximately 50% FTE (2.5 days per week).
  • Salary: Equivalent to a full-time annual salary of £60,000, pro rata based on hours worked.
