Commercial & Contracts Manager Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled Commercial & Contracts Manager to join their team on a 7-month contract in either Portsmouth or Stevenage.

Job Summary

  1. Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of allocated opportunities and contracts across various sectors, including ESA, UK GOV, UK MOD, and private corporations.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver profitable commercial solutions, ensuring commercial risks are identified and mitigated, and governance is followed.
  3. Responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the acquire business/bidding process, including preparing bid and governance paperwork, reviewing and negotiating contract terms, and advising on key contractual obligations.
  4. Work with the Procurement organisation to ensure flow down and mitigation of contractual risks.
  5. Manage existing contracts in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements, ensuring efficient and accurate performance of commercial activities, change management, and prompt payment of invoices.
  6. Develop relationships with customers to ensure smooth contract execution.
  7. Provide commercial guidance and support to the wider business as required.
  8. Employ commercial best practice, efficiency, and responsiveness within an ethical environment.
  9. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be able to operate independently for extended periods, with an understanding of when to seek advice and escalation on commercial/contractual issues.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  1. Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  2. Proven contract management experience, regardless of customer.
  3. Experience working with UK MOD, Governmental, and Non-Governmental customers in a commercial environment.
  4. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Excellent stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  1. Commercial experience in sales, bidding, procurement, or a related field.
  2. International communication skills.
  3. Able to multitask and handle multiple contracts.
  4. Flexible team player.
