Job Summary

The Operational Excellence Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the domestic Small Package function at UPS meets and exceeds customer service and quality objectives. This position is responsible for developing, assessing, and aligning service goals with company objectives, as well as supporting the implementation of training activities and providing operational support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and track monthly performance goals to evaluate service objectives and ensure consistent high-quality Small Package customer service.
  • Analyze performance metrics to ensure service processes and procedures support business objectives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to determine improvement areas and raise expectations where necessary.
  • Support the development of the Small Package and Engineering operations balanced scorecard elements to align with corporate strategies.
  • Provide Operational Excellence Training and support Quality Improvement Process training to ensure training activities support department and business objectives.
  • Maintain and update Operational Excellence databases to ensure the availability of Small Package best practices and service trends for department personnel.
  • Develop weekly service reports to inform senior management of Small Package service levels and conduct service trend analyses to determine the best service improvement strategies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
  • Understanding of operational barriers and failures, and ability to identify and improve designs, methods, processes, and flows through collaboration.
  • Technical expertise in resolving issues related to information systems reporting, report generation, and storage, as well as experience using advanced Access and Excel functionalities.
  • Industrial Engineering experience and availability to work flexible shift hours, including weekends and travel.
