Academic SEN Tutor

We are looking for an experienced and qualified SEN Support Professional to join our team at Academics Ltd. This part-time position covers Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, working with children who require specialized education due to their severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and medical needs.

This role involves sharing planning responsibilities and alternating PPA time. You will be supported by 3 dedicated teaching assistants in the classroom, working with class sizes of 8-9 children.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Have a deep understanding of the EYFS/KS1 curriculum adapted to meet the unique needs of SEN children.
  • Be able to tailor lesson plans to meet individual students' requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Be adaptable in terms of the school's working schedule.
  • Efficiently utilize available resources.
  • Maintain a calm and patient demeanor.

Applicants must possess a fully enhanced DBS check, provide a minimum of two professional references, and participate in a face-to-face interview.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create engaging and challenging lessons tailored to the needs of SEN children.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants to ensure effective support.
• Establish and maintain a secure and inclusive learning environment.
• Effectively communicate with colleagues, parents, and carers.
• Stay current with curriculum developments and best practices.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 per annum.
