This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist to work within a Learning Disability CAMHS team across North Derbyshire.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works to reduce mental health difficulties in young people with moderate and severe learning disabilities.

Main Duties
  • Providing specialist mental health assessments, formulations, and interventions for children and young people with complex needs.
Job Responsibilities
  • To work within the LD CAMHS team across North Derbyshire: Contributing to communication assessments, formulations, and interventions for young people with learning disabilities as part of LD CAMHS.
  • To offer training, consultations, and expert clinical advice about communication and language disorders to mental health practitioners.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications: Recognised vocational degree in speech and language therapy.
  • Registration: HCPC Registration.
  • Post-qualification Training: Relevant courses.
  • Experience: Evidence of work with children with a learning disability and/or Autism.
  • Teamwork: Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Training Delivery: Experience of devising and delivering training.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Assessment Approaches: Specific assessment and treatment approaches for children with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
  • Statutory Policies: Knowledge of statutory special needs policies and procedures.

The estimated salary range for this position is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
