Health, Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Co-ordinator to join our client, a leading manufacturer in Derbyshire, on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of the site team, you will be responsible for driving and creating a safety culture, providing support across the site, and assisting the UK HSE Manager in maintaining the UK-wide HSE management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide EHS advice to the site management team and staff
  • Conduct and review risk assessments for routine and non-routine tasks
  • Assist Plant Managers with updating and reviewing EHS procedures for each site, including the Emergency procedures file
  • Assist with incident investigation and reporting, as required
  • Support Plant and Production Managers with compliance requirements on an as-needed basis
  • Ensure each site maintains the necessary level of compliance documentation
  • Attend quarterly EHS meetings at site
  • Ensure audit and inspection issues are addressed and entered onto the relevant online platform
  • Provide backup and work in tandem with the UK EHS Manager
  • Assist Plant Managers with maintaining environmental site records, including the waste matrix, investigating environmental incidents, and tracking energy use
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate on-site audits
  • Assist Plant Managers with producing appropriate EHS documentation
  • Liaise with external assessors to facilitate assessments on fire, noise, dust, and legionella
Requirements:
  • Trained to NEBOSH qualification
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to train and educate staff on EHS matters
  • Knowledge of ISO14001/18001 is desirable
