Mental Health Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our team at Rethink Mental Illness. As a key member of our Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their mental health recovery journeys within the Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, and Bolsover communities.
Working collaboratively with partners like P3, Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health, and Derbyshire Mind, you will help people gain confidence, connect with community services, and set goals that foster personal growth and independence. Your key responsibilities will include providing dedicated key worker support to individuals, conducting needs assessments, and developing tailored recovery plans.
You will use motivational and coaching techniques to support service users in reaching their goals and improving mental wellbeing. You will also facilitate access to local resources and services to meet specific needs identified during assessments.
Key Responsibilities:

- Work closely with service users to support both mental and physical health, while maintaining respect and professional boundaries.
- Collaborate with other agencies and attend community events to promote the service and Rethink Mental Illness.
- Contribute to the team's goals by supporting volunteers, accurately recording data on service activities, and proactively improving service delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong background in providing mental health support or experience in social care settings (paid or voluntary).
- Knowledge of mental health issues and intervention methods, and ideally a QCF Diploma/NVQ Level 3 in Care, or equivalent (or working towards).
- Excellent assessment and care planning skills, along with resilience to manage challenging situations.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, use relevant IT systems, and support service users' health and safety.
