Job Summary: Nirvana Managed Services is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Cleaning Operative to join our team. As a Specialist Cleaning Operative, you will be responsible for providing advanced cleaning services in environments that require specialized techniques and procedures. This includes but is not limited to trauma scenes, crime scenes, hazardous material spills, deep cleaning of industrial and commercial sites, high-level sanitization, flood cleanups, and fire-hit properties cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Specialist Cleaning:
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of areas affected by biohazards, chemicals, and other hazardous materials.
  • Use specialized equipment and cleaning agents to decontaminate and restore environments to a safe and habitable state.
  • Conduct deep cleaning services for industrial, commercial, and public facilities.
  • Cleaning of crime scene bodily fluids, flood water extraction and restoration, fire damage clean-ups, hoarder and void properties, needles sweeps, chemical spills, biohazard road traffic collisions, and body decomposition cleans.
Site Assessment:
  • Evaluate the extent of contamination and determine the appropriate cleaning methods and materials.
  • Identify and mitigate any safety hazards present at the worksite.
Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards, ensuring the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Stay informed about and comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Waste Management:
  • Safely collect, transport, and dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste following regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure proper documentation of waste disposal procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including logs, photographs, and reports.
  • Provide detailed reports to supervisors and clients outlining the work completed and any issues encountered.
Customer Interaction:
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients, explaining the cleaning process and addressing any concerns.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and respect client confidentiality.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with other cleaning operatives and supervisors to ensure efficient job completion.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new team members as required.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, new cleaning technologies, and advancements in health and safety standards.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and other potentially dangerous materials.
  • Physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work in various settings, including residential, commercial, industrial, and outdoor environments.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in specialist cleaning, trauma scene cleaning, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in biohazard cleaning, hazardous materials handling, or related training is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in challenging and diverse environments.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Proficiency in using specialized cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
