Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Maternity Support Worker to join our Antenatal and Newborn Screening Team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will provide support with Fetal Medicine Clinics, BCG vaccine clinics, and Preterm Birth Clinics, working closely with midwives and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to mothers and their families.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with antenatal and newborn screening, including fetal medicine clinics and BCG vaccine clinics
  • Provide support to midwives and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of care to mothers and their families
  • Undertake vital signs, urinalysis, and CO monitoring, as well as other tasks as required
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with women and their families, respecting their wishes and decisions
  • Ensure accurate and confidential collection, storage, and filing of clinical documentation
  • Participate in tracking, obtaining, and filing clinical records, as well as updating databases
  • Provide administrative support to the maternity team, including preparing reports and tracking data
Requirements
  • Education to NVQ level or equivalent experience
  • GCSE Maths Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent experience
  • Commit to undertake in-house training
  • Care certificate
