About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our Global Licensing Team at OKX. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our business across various regions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Licensing and Compliance: Work with the licensing process in specific jurisdictions and collaborate with the Global Licensing Team to obtain key licenses.
  2. External Counsel Management: Manage external counsel and conduct legal research into global laws and regulations applicable to the crypto industry with the assistance of outside counsel.
  3. Business Strategy: Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of the business's regional strategy and collaborate with product and business development teams to achieve company-wide projects and goals.
  4. Application Materials: Draft and revise application materials in collaboration with the Global Licensing Team and other business teams.
  5. Civil or Regulatory Litigation: Assist with civil or regulatory litigation matters and supervise outside counsel as needed.
  6. Additional Legal Requests: Manage additional legal requests from all areas of the business and effectively advise on legal concepts and legal risk with an eye towards the strategic goals of business leaders.
Requirements
  1. Active Membership: Active membership with either the Law Society of Ireland, a US state bar (CA or NY preferred), or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably in a financial services-related industry or other firmly-regulated space.
  3. Blockchain Knowledge: Enthusiastic about blockchain technology and have an understanding of the relevant legal/regulatory landscape.
  4. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively advise and build trust with business teams and navigate through legal ambiguity.
  5. Project Management: Project management experience with superior organizational skills.

  2. Financial Services Industry: Regulatory experience in the financial services industry.
