An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a proactive and seasoned Associate General Counsel. In this pivotal role, you will manage all legal functions and become an integral part of our Executive Leadership Team. We seek a legal expert with substantial expertise in commercial law, data protection, and corporate governance. Your contributions will be vital in influencing the legal framework of our organization and aiding in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer, providing insightful legal guidance with a strong commercial perspective across all operations.
  • Ensure the delivery of top-tier legal services and commercial advice consistently.
  • Exhibit outstanding leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Oversee daily interactions with external legal firms and offer support to various business units on a broad spectrum of legal matters.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including service contracts, partnership arrangements, and supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with the Data Protection team to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and oversee the execution of data protection policies.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial law, data protection, and corporate governance, ideally within the contracting sector, with a proven history of exceeding objectives and providing strategic legal counsel to senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing and nurturing a legal team, alongside excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting contracting businesses, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while managing multiple priorities.
  • High energy and a relentless commitment to legal excellence, dedicated to delivering superior internal advice and support.
  • Familiarity with adopting new and existing legal technologies to drive innovation.
