We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Person's Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Via Westminster Drug Project. As a key member of our Young People's service, you will play a vital role in supporting young individuals struggling with drug and alcohol issues.

The Role

As a Young Person's Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering early intervention and prevention work, providing specialist drug and alcohol treatment to young people. Your primary objectives will be to:

  • Prevent young people from engaging in substance misuse and risk-taking behaviors.
  • Enable young people to develop boundaries, emotional resilience, and self-esteem.
  • Actively support young people to reduce and/or stop harmful behaviors, encouraging prosocial and healthy alternatives.

You will work closely with young people, their families, and carers to provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, and risk management. Your expertise will also be utilized in delivering brief interventions, resilience training, and harm minimization.

Location

The role is based interchangeably between Barkingside and Ilford Chambers, with occasional travel to schools and satellites within the borough.
