We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in the South East.

As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options, including clinical and psychosocial interventions, in both group and one-to-one settings, with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.

The role offers a competitive salary of up to £43,534 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, such as bespoke induction, regional and national career development opportunities, and discounts on shopping and leisure activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • To carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans, and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users.
  • To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care and developing individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning.

We are looking for a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing. You'll also have a RCGP 1 in Substance Misuse or willingness to undertake this to support you in your development. Experience of working with opiate-dependent patients is advantageous for this role, as well as sound clinical substance misuse knowledge.
