Role Overview

We are seeking an Estates Net Zero Delivery Manager to join our Sustainability Team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to a team of Sustainability Engineers and Project Managers in delivering the Estates Decarbonisation Strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Delivery Team to ensure alignment of capital projects with the Estates Decarbonisation Strategy.
  • Manage regular energy-related audits to identify and prioritize potential decarbonization schemes.
  • Support the Estates Energy Team in delivering regular reports on progress against decarbonization targets.
  • Develop and deliver site-specific decarbonization plans as part of the Estates strategy.
  • Manage delegated budgets in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
  • Author and manage Estates-related policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external organizations such as the Department of Health, NHS Estates, and Local Authorities.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate/Masters degree in Building Services, Sustainability Engineering, or a related field.
  • Management qualification such as ILM level 5, 7, or MBA.
  • Formal project or programme management qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner.
Key Skills
  • Extensive experience in engineering services and estates decarbonization/Net Zero.
  • Proficient in developing long-term strategies and plans for Estate improvement.
  • Experience in managing projects within fixed programmes and budgets.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Business Planning process.
  • Significant senior management experience in leading teams in delivering construction or engineering-related projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and passion for delivering engineering solutions to achieve Estates Net Zero by 2030.
