We are pleased to partner with Wayman Learning Trust, a leading education recruitment consultancy, to find a dynamic and engaging Media Studies Teacher for a secondary school in Wandsworth. This full-time permanent position offers a unique opportunity to inspire and equip students with essential skills in the ever-evolving world of media.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and inspiring Media Studies curriculum to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. The role entails fostering a creative and collaborative learning environment that encourages critical thinking, digital literacy, and a passion for media analysis and production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging Media Studies lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational ethos.
  • Create a stimulating classroom atmosphere that promotes student curiosity, participation, and the development of essential media skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth and achievement.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Media Studies department and across the school to enrich the learning experience and contribute to extracurricular activities.
  • Stay abreast of current trends, technologies, and pedagogical approaches in Media Studies education.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Media Studies, Film Studies, Communication, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Media Studies at the secondary level.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, aligned with the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS). In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension contributions and opportunities for professional development.
