We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Met Office Climate Systems Specialist as part of our Year in Industry program. This 12-month placement offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop technical expertise and contribute to impactful projects within the Met Office.
About the ProgramThe Met Office Climate Systems Specialist placement involves designing and implementing a python-based system for the Global Climate Dashboard. This innovative platform aims to present accessible, updating information on key global climate indicators.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with our team to develop the Global Climate Dashboard, incorporating international data sources and ensuring the system's robustness.
- Work closely with developers to integrate and refine the dashboard's features.
- Demonstrated expertise in computer coding, including data manipulation and system integration.
- Effective communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts.
- Compliance with security clearance requirements, ensuring eligibility through residency in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
