Climate Change Research Leader

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Scientist - Climate Mitigation to join our team at the Met Office.
This is a full-time, hybrid working position, where you will be expected to work part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This arrangement is voluntary and non-contractual, with the location being your contractual place of work.
Key Responsibilities:- To contribute to the development of climate mitigation strategies and policies that align with the Met Office's goals and objectives.
- To lead research projects focused on climate change mitigation, including analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing recommendations for policy makers.
- PhD or MSc in a relevant field such as environmental science, climate science, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a government agency or research institution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.
- A competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
