At Jones Kemp, we are seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our team and support both contentious and non-contentious work in the area of international economic sanctions and export controls.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed legal research, navigating legal systems worldwide, and keeping up with fast-paced, intricate legal developments. This role requires someone with excellent research skills, capable of interpreting and digesting complex areas of law.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting detailed legal research on international economic sanctions and export controls.
  • Navigating legal systems worldwide, including civil and criminal litigation.
  • Keeping up with fast-paced, intricate legal developments in the field of business crime.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong academic background, including a law degree or equivalent (GDL) alongside completion of the LPC or BPTC.
  • At least 12 months of paralegal experience, preferably in contentious or criminal litigation.
  • A genuine interest in law, combined with a proactive work ethic.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office programs such as Excel.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools like Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, and Practical Law.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including comprehensive training and professional development opportunities.
