About the Role

As our Global Sanctions Compliance Strategist, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive sanctions compliance program that supports all businesses across Haleon. With access to senior leaders and strong links with legal, risk, and compliance teams, you will manage Haleon's sanctions processes and framework, ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently while aligning with global sanctions compliance strategy and Haleon's needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovation:
    • Evaluate and interpret sanctions policies and procedures, providing clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the organization's global trade and economic sanctions compliance strategy.
    • Identify, define, and deploy key projects and initiatives to address performance gaps and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of sanctions compliance through service delivery.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the organization's sanctions compliance posture, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
  • Performance:
    • Lead a globally dispersed team and ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met, driving high-quality results and continuous improvement.
    • Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, escalate risks associated with Haleon's sanctions screening and due diligence processes.
    • Manage operations and workflow globally relating to ad-hoc and automated sanctions screening requests processes, chairing the committee for system configuration and list management.
    • Implement effective governance, processes, and measures in accordance with regulations and business needs.
    • Perform quality assurance on investigations and queries handled by the screening team to ensure alignment with Haleon policy and designed processes.
  • Trust:
    • Support the Head of Trade Compliance and senior management in meeting regulatory obligations by providing proactive support in implementing Sanctions policies in compliance with regulations and Haleon's Sanctions Policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Maintain consistent and effective communication with Legal and key stakeholders (internal and external to the organization) on sanctions risks and issues.
    • Ensure changes to regulations either globally or locally are identified and embedded into Haleon's approved policy.
    • Provide targeted training to Haleon business units on all aspects of sanctions compliance.
    • Proactively manage risks, changes, and programs/projects in accordance with Haleon's strategic priorities.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring effective alignment with functions/teams.
Qualifications and Skills

This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience in sanctions compliance, and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, along with certifications such as CFE or CAMS. The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on factors including location and level of experience.
