Job Description

Studio PDP is seeking a highly skilled Part 2 Architectural Assistant/Technologist to join our team on an exciting landmark retrofit/enerphit project in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assist the development of the architects design by analyzing building regulations, space requirements, survey information, reports, and other technical documents.
  • Preparation, coordination, and communication of technical information including drawings, reports, and schedules and specification.
  • Technical detailing.
  • Ensure the required statutory regulations are met.
  • Obtaining, recording, and organizing information.
  • Calculating U-values and assisting the team with envelope technical details.
  • Preparation of regulatory applications.
  • To weigh up technical problems and provide detailed design solutions.
  • Design stage risk assessments and monitor health and safety in design.
  • Liaise between members of the design and construction team.
  • On-site inspection of work, and dealing with Contractor queries.
  • Keeping up to date with new construction methods, materials, and technology.
  • Internal audit of drawings and specifications carried out at relevant stages of the project.
Requirements
  • Experience of using Revit to a high standard along with other software packages.
  • Experience in retrofit.
  • An understanding of low energy design.
  • PassivHaus knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building regulations.
  • Manual drawing skills.
  • The ability to think laterally.
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to check and correct your own and other's work accurately.
  • Good at following things through to completion, with consistency.
  • A strong work ethic, which is demonstrated in your personal approach and also communicated to others.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • To be able to work on your own initiative.
