About the Team

The Fashion, Sports & Home Trade Marketing team operates in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with a proactive and agile team to bring forward innovative concepts, enhance the customer experience, respond to market trends, and develop strategic plans for events and campaigns. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between various departments, including category management and marketing, ensuring effective collaboration across the organization.

About the Role

As a Category Trading Manager, you will be responsible for crafting and executing category trading strategies within the Fashion, Sports & Home division to stimulate engagement and growth. This role involves ongoing analysis of online trading metrics to assess and recommend actions that optimize the customer experience, ensuring that customer-centricity remains at the forefront of our decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Formulating, enhancing, and implementing activity plans
  • Analyzing online trading data to identify growth opportunities across key digital performance indicators (traffic, click-through rates, conversion) and utilizing data to enhance efficiency
  • Boosting onsite conversion rates for links, products, and campaigns
  • Leading key weekly and monthly trading discussions to ensure the customer journey aligns with category strategies and competitive landscape
  • Managing the category trading calendar in collaboration with the Trading Manager, aligning priorities with broader business objectives and key initiatives
  • Acting as a representative for the Trade Manager in departmental meetings, ensuring the Fashion, Sports & Home category is well-represented
  • Gaining insights into key competitors in the Fashion, Sports & Home market and recommending adjustments to plans as necessary
  • Evaluating sales performance, budgets, and evolving customer needs to propose plan modifications
  • Assisting in the development and execution of category strategies that align with The Very Group's overall objectives, overseeing the complete process
  • Leading a team of marketing executives to ensure timely delivery of all plans to industry-leading standards

About You

We seek a dynamic and results-oriented Category Trading Manager to join our energetic team. You should possess a strong strategic mindset coupled with a passion for creative innovation, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking. Your analytical skills and ability to identify opportunities will be essential in executing effective category trading strategies.

A proven history of establishing and nurturing strong relationships with external strategic brand partners is essential. Experience in leading a team within a high-energy environment is also required.
