Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Emergency Department Nurse to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of nurses in the Paediatric Emergency Department, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the team.

The successful candidate will have significant post-qualification experience in an Emergency Department, with sound clinical knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with youth workers, health visitors, safeguarding and trauma nurses to provide evidence-based, holistic care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of nurses in the Paediatric Emergency Department
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Contribute to the development of the team, including mentoring and supervising junior staff and student nurses
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • 1st level Registered Paediatric Nurse qualification
  • Mentorship programme or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Demonstrable clinical expertise, relevant to the area
  • Team building and working skills – able to lead a team to achieve results
