Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Persons Mental Health

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Older Persons Mental Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health needs of community patients in their community area.

The ideal candidate will have experience in assessment and management of older adults, as well as service improvement in OPMH. They will also possess good interpersonal and communication skills, teaching experience, and research experience.

The Consultant Psychiatrist will work closely with community teams to provide effective multidisciplinary collaborative care, including availability for consultation, regularly attending team meetings, and providing case discussion and advice at the request of team members and/or team managers.

The successful candidate will be eligible for our Blue Light Card and a wide range of NHS exclusive shopping & leisure discounts.

About the Role
  1. Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health needs of community patients in their community area.
  2. Work closely with community teams to provide effective multidisciplinary collaborative care.
  3. Act as Responsible Clinician for community patients subject to a compulsory treatment order under the Mental Health Act (CTOs).
  4. Provide Mental Capacity Act s49 reports for patients in their community area.
  5. Provide visible and clear clinical leadership to the mental health service both locally and across the Trust.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £105,504 to £139,882 a year depending on experience.
