About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Work Supervisor to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing regular supervision to allocated foster parents to ensure they are providing a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Monitoring the continued suitability and competence of foster parents and ensuring they are meeting the standards expected.
  • Working in partnership with foster parents, children, and other professionals to identify needs and develop plans to support children and young people.
  • Ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and maintained in accordance with FCA policies and procedures.
  • Attending meetings and providing reports to Commissioning Teams to address individual packages of care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful or difficult situations.
  • A full driving license.
