Submarine Reactor Engineer

We seek an experienced Submarine Reactor Engineer to contribute to the design and development of nuclear propulsion systems for the Royal Navy's submarine fleet.
Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing reactor performance under various operating conditions, developing a comprehensive understanding of reactor plant operation and protection systems, and collaborating with our team to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be highly driven, and strive to maintain exceptional delivery performance. Experience in simulating reactor coolant systems is beneficial but not essential.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, an excellent benefits package, including bonus, employee support assistance, and employee discounts. Business travel may be required to our waterfront locations.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats and be a UK national.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze reactor performance under normal, abnormal, and accident scenarios.
- Gain a deep understanding of reactor plant operation and protection systems.
- Analyze fluid flow and heat transfer to support robust design evaluation of the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant.
- Evaluate primary systems and their components using commercial and in-house developed codes and methods.
- Define pressure and temperature transient profiles for the submarine's entire lifespan.
- Strong foundation in fundamental engineering principles and processes.
- Solid knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles.
- Superb communication skills and high levels of motivation.
