Rolls-Royce Submarines is seeking an experienced Criticality Physicist to join our team in Derby. As a critical member of our Criticality team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of our submarine reactor cores.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering high-quality criticality safety analyses to support the design, manufacture, transport, commissioning, maintenance, and disposal of submarine reactor cores.
  • Working closely with our Group Leader to establish project commitments, budgets, and targets, and providing regular progress updates.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities within the scope of technical work packages.

What we're looking for:
  • A degree in a relevant engineering or scientific subject (MPhys, MSc, PTNR, NTEC, and/or Chartered Physicist or Engineer - Desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of the fission process and neutron transport theory.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
