Job Title: Transport Planner
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling the activities of our Transport Operation, ensuring that customer requirements are met and that our operations are running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport Planning: Plan and organize the activities of the Transport Operation, including the transition between peak and off-peak activity periods.
- Collaboration with Transport Managers: Meet regularly with Transport Managers to ensure that our operations are running efficiently and that we are meeting customer expectations.
- Identifying Opportunities for Improvement: Identify and develop additional areas where we can add value to existing contracts.
- Liaison with Warehouse: Liaise with the warehouse to ensure that trailers and vehicles are available when required.
- Communication with Customers: Communicate with internal and external customers regarding the night operation.
- Vehicle Activity Planning: Ensure that vehicle activity is planned in the most efficient manner.
- Contract Coverage: Ensure that all contracted work is covered in line with customer expectations.
- Driver Debriefing: Ensure that all drivers are fully debriefed at the end of the shift.
- Revenue Targets: Meet daily revenue targets per shift per vehicle.
- Collection and Delivery Bookings: Communicate collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to policies and procedures within the Business Area.
- TMS System Management: Ensure that our TMS system is updated and monitored.
- Safe Systems of Work: Observe and follow Company Safe Systems of Work at all times, including maintaining standards of personal hygiene and wearing uniform and PPE.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience of working within the Transport Warehouse and logistics industry.
- Legal Compliance: Good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTD's.
- Leadership Skills: Leadership skills and a track record of leading successful change.
- Customer Relationship Management: Proven experience in customer relationship management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- IT Literacy: IT literate, including MS Office, with strong analytic ability in reviewing data and reports.

- Salary: Salary for Transport Planner is between £26,500pa - £27,300pa, depending on experience.
- Hours of Work: Hours of work are from 06:00hrs to 14:30hrs, Monday to Friday.
