Job Summary:

Menzies Distribution is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at our Central Planning Centre in Coalville. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for organizing the delivery and collection of products on behalf of Menzies Distribution Solutions Limited and its customers across multiple sites, covering various different contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods and products to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective transportation operations.
  • Monitor and analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize transportation operations.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to ensure that transportation plans are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of transportation operations, including schedules, routes, and cargo information.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and laws, including drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a transport planning role, preferably in a busy transport office environment.
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Good standard of education and IT literacy.
  • Commercial understanding and knowledge of transportation systems, such as ESP, GTS, Transporeon, and Blujay.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
