Gregory Distribution is seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team in Coalville. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling transportation activities to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize transportation activities to meet customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with Transport Managers to optimize transportation routes and schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and reduce costs.
- Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure trailers and vehicles are available when required.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding transportation activities.
- Ensure vehicle activity is planned in the most efficient manner.
- Meet daily revenue targets per shift per vehicle.
- Communicate collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and update the TMS system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in transportation planning and logistics.
- Strong understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
- Leadership skills and ability to lead successful change initiatives.
- Proven experience in customer relationship management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- IT literacy, including MS Office, and strong analytical ability in reviewing data and reports.

- Competitive salary range of £26,500pa - £27,300pa, depending on experience.
- Hours of work: 06:00hrs to 14:30hrs, Monday to Friday.
