At Menzies Distribution, we are seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to oversee the smooth execution of our transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery Execution: Ensure all deliveries align with the Regional Planning Centre's plans.
  • Plan Control: Execute the Day and Night Plan, making adjustments as necessary to maintain acceptable customer service levels.
  • Driver Briefing and Debriefing: Inform drivers of their daily tasks and responsibilities, and conduct a debrief to ensure all work is completed and issues are addressed.
  • Issue Resolution: Effectively manage and resolve issues as they arise during shifts, making adjustments to the plan as needed.
  • Vehicle Earnings: Minimize or maximize the impact on vehicle earnings to meet budgeted targets.
  • Weekend Work: Participate in weekend shifts to cover holidays, either through shift swaps or overtime.
  • Handover and Communication: Complete face-to-face handovers at the start and end of each shift, and communicate issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Transport Compliance: Adhere to and enforce Transport-related Compliance.
  • TMS System: Ensure TMS system compliance and manage load creation, TMS system allocation, and trailer checks.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Conduct investigations and return to work interviews as required, and prepare key KPI reports for customers.
Requirements:
  • Right to Work: Possess 'Right to Work' status in the UK.
  • Transport Experience: Proven experience working in a busy Transport office.
  • Legislation Knowledge: Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills.
  • Education: Good standard of education.
  • IT Literacy: Proficient in IT.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of Health and Safety practices.
  • Commercial Understanding: Commercial acumen.
  • Transport Systems: Familiarity with Transport systems.
