Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Menzies Distribution Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery and collection of products on behalf of our company and its customers across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Planning: Develop and implement efficient transport plans to meet customer requirements and maximize profitability.
  • Route Optimization: Analyze and optimize routes to reduce empty running and minimize costs.
  • Load Planning: Build and manage loads to ensure maximum utilization of vehicles and meet customer KPI targets.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including drivers, dispatchers, and management, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Legislation Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation, including Drivers Hours, Tachograph, and WTD regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a transport planning role is mandatory.
  • Education: Good standard of education and IT literacy.
  • Skills: Knowledge of transport systems, including ESP, GTS, Transporeon, and Blujay.
  • Commercial Understanding: Commercial understanding and ability to analyze data to inform planning decisions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
