Airbus Helicopters is the world's largest manufacturer of helicopters, and its site at Oxford Airport serves as Britain's civil helicopter hub.

The company offers extensive experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance, and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customization, installation, flight-testing, and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training, and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.

Airbus Helicopters is the preferred provider of helicopters and maintenance for the Defence Helicopter Flying School (MFTS) operated by the UK Ministry of Defence. The school has two locations: RAF Shawbury in Shropshire and RAF Valley on Anglesey.

This role involves assisting with the movement, line, and base maintenance of the UK MFTS H135/H145 fleet.

This position requires working to high standards to ensure the continued safe operation of aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to Flight Operations.
  • Perform maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Accomplish maintenance tasks, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical, and electrical systems, according to OEM guidelines.
  • Conduct off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component, and composite technical work in workshops as required.
  • Assist with day-to-day aircraft Hangar operations, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems is required.
  • Familiarity with specialized test equipment related to engine and airframe systems.

  • Aircraft Base Maintenance

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
  • Knowledge of CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.

Applicants should possess an apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or a related field.

Experience on H135/H145 is highly desirable.

An estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
