About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join our team as a HSE and Facilities Advisor at our Pontefract site. As a key member of the site HSE Pillar Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation of company HSE policy and embedding ISO requirements through the Intersnack Work System (IWS) HSE Pillar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of company HSE policy and embed ISO requirements through the IWS HSE Pillar at site level.
  • Coach and build capabilities for accident and incident investigations to ensure corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.
  • Support the site HSE Lead with regulatory authorities and insurers on matters such as Fire Risk Assessments, RIDDOR reporting, Emergency Planning, Discharge consents, and Improvement Plans.
  • Support risk reduction based on site Risk assessments, including Fire, Machinery Safety, DSEAR, and PUWER Maintenance.
  • Engage, communicate, and be proactive and visible to support site improvements, behaviours, and culture, as well as capability building of HSE Pillar Tools.
  • Conduct internal Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy Health checks to ensure legal compliance and support the delivery of the HSE Master Plan to reduce risk and improve HSE and Energy.
  • Manage the site's day-to-day facilities requirements, including ordering PPE and office supplies, budget control, credit card management, admin office support, site security and access control management, and third-party KPI reviews.
Requirements
  • Health and safety professional with good manufacturing experience.
  • Nebosh Health and Safety Certificate preferred.
  • Environmental Qualification - IEMA Certificate desired.
  • Able to demonstrate good influencing skills.
  • Experience of working with Safe Teams/Committees to drive improvements in culture and performance.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant health and safety and Environment legislation/law and how it is practically applied.
  • Good understanding of change agents.
  • Able to demonstrate effective Teamwork at both site levels and regional levels.
