Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner Specialist to join our team at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections). As a Kairuruku Hinengaro - Māori Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering te ao Māori intervention to support the mental health of vulnerable individuals in our care.

In this role, you will work closely with the Intervention and Support Practice team to assess the oranga needs of clients, considering their whakapapa, hinengaro, wairua, and overall wellbeing. You will also be responsible for mentoring culturally safe practices and fostering partnerships and relationships.

Requirements:

  • Experience and proficiency in te reo me ona tikanga and mātauranga Māori.
  • Knowledge/experience of working in mental health or health services.
  • Knowledge/experience of the Mental Health Act or be willing to learn.

Salary Range:

$NZ 90,000 - $120,000 per annum.
