About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Children's Mental Health Specialist to join our dynamic team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate qualified health professional to work with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with patients with neurodevelopmental and learning disabilities, and will be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (e.g. NMC). They will also have experience of carrying out generic assessments with other colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team, and providing clinical interventions in different cultural contexts.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work within our Children & Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) team, which focuses on emotional wellbeing as well as mental health, and includes access to self-help tools and services based in schools and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based clinical interventions in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance criteria (NICE)
  • Undertake initial school-based and community-based assessments and deliver a range of early interventions to children and young people with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties
  • Assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of patients with a variety of conditions

Salary: £32,000 - £43,041 per annum
