Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist - Stroke Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Integrated Community Stroke Therapy Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

The successful candidate will operate within a strong, supportive multi-disciplinary team promoting an inter-disciplinary approach to working with patients to set and work towards meeting person-centred goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload, providing specialised assessment & rehabilitation for patients following a Stroke.
  • Use assessment skills to inform & manage appropriate discharge across inpatient & community settings.
  • Promote an inter-disciplinary approach to goal setting while maintaining a strong Physiotherapy clinical focus.
  • Work collaboratively with the patient, families and other MDT professionals to inform discharge & MDT planning.
  • Delegate work appropriately to Therapy Assistants and Assistant Practitioners.
  • Facilitate training for patients, their carers & the wider MDT, promoting meaningful engagement with therapy exercises & Activities of Daily Living.
  • Support the Band 7 clinical lead in delivering specialised therapy services and lead the team in their absence when required.
  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to other Physios, Therapy Assistants and Assistant Practitioners.
  • Deliver a compassionate, inclusive & respectful therapy service to all patients & their families.
