Fostering Children's Support Specialist

Torbay Council is seeking an experienced social worker to join our team in supporting cared for children and implementing their permanency plans. This role requires strong advocacy skills, a passion for improving outcomes for cared for children, and the ability to work effectively with families, partners, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support cared for children across various placement settings, from long-term fostering to reunification or family placement, and adoption. They will be responsible for creating positive relationships, conducting risk assessments, and providing mediation and negotiation services as needed.
Requirements
- Good understanding of child development, attachment theory, and anti-discriminatory practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current legislation and guidance related to children, young people, and families.
- Advanced knowledge of social work theory and methods, including assessment frameworks and Child Care policies.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of £42,440 - £45,718 per year, including a market supplement ranging from £929 to £1007.
