Zen Educate is seeking a skilled Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school located north of Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with autism and complex needs.

We are looking for someone with experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum. You will be responsible for supporting students with their learning needs, as well as their care requirements, including toileting assistance where necessary.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff. In terms of qualifications and training, we require applicants to hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service. A relevant teaching qualification or equivalent experience is also essential.

This is a full-time opportunity, with working hours of 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive training package, and the opportunity to progress to a permanent position with the school.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students with their learning needs, including those with autism and complex needs
  • Assisting students with toileting and other care requirements, as needed
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to deliver high-quality education and support
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, as required
  • Attending training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
