Educator for Children with Special Needs

Zen Educate seeks a dedicated and compassionate educator to fill a full-time Special Needs Teaching Assistant position at a special needs school north of Bristol. In this role, you will work closely with students with varying needs, including autism spectrum disorder, severe learning difficulties, and complex needs.

We welcome applicants with experience in a school setting, caring for children, or supporting adults with special needs. A car is preferred but not essential if you have access to public transport from suitable areas of the city.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions from teachers and senior staff when working with students.
  • Be comfortable assisting students with toileting needs (if applicable).
  • Implement education healthcare plans for each student's learning and care needs.
  • Provide nurturing support to students, emphasizing consistency and reliability.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service.
