**Supporting Students with Emotional Needs
We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Teaching Assistant to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment in the Stockport area. As a Teaching Assistant for Students with Emotional Needs, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH) in a secondary alternative education provision.
The Role:
- This full-time position is available from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, offering a competitive salary of up to £100 per day and the potential for a permanent appointment.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide academic and pastoral support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage and participate in lessons.
- To work closely with the class teacher to develop strategies to prevent or de-escalate challenging behaviors and promote a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A passion for working with students with emotional needs and experience supporting children with challenging behaviors.
- An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
- Overseas Police Clearances if applicable.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
