About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Merville Barracks in Colchester. As a key member of our support staff, you will provide essential clerical assistance to military personnel and contribute to the smooth operation of the office.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to military personnel, including preparing high-quality documentation and managing report writing schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate records of Unit personnel, reports, and other important documents.
  • Compiling and organizing mailshots, invitations, posters, and advertising materials for Unit/HQ events.
  • Assisting with unit-led functions and coffee mornings.
  • Acting as an initial contact for military personnel, families, and outside organizations.
  • Preparing and distributing sensitive written work on behalf of Authority Line Manager.

In addition to your administrative duties, you will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • 2+ years of administration experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work autonomously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Security Check (SC) clearance provided by Sodexo.
Package Description

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week, with flexible working hours. You will receive a competitive hourly rate of £11.44 and have access to free car parking. We also offer a range of benefits, including a comprehensive training program and opportunities for career development.
