Job Description:

The University of Hertfordshire is seeking a highly skilled Help Desk Support Specialist to join our team in the Library and Computing Services department. As a key member of the Support teams, you will be responsible for providing frontline technical support to staff, students, and visitors across the University.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance of Audio Visual (AV) and Digital Media (DM) installations in University teaching and meeting rooms, video conference rooms, TV Studios, Weston Auditorium, and Digital Signage system.
  2. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with AV/IT systems, theatre equipment, networking infrastructure, and media equipment across the University Estate.
  3. Ensuring customer service requests are dealt with using relevant systems and processes, providing good communication with users as necessary.
  4. Supporting the setup and operation of equipment for key University events, including Awards Ceremonies, Weston Auditorium events, Registration, and Clearing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a front-line service within a customer service organization.
  • Experience in providing technical support for AV, IT, and Events.
  • Skills and experience in programming, operating, and maintaining professional lighting and sound equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
