We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at Midas Specialist Recruitment. As an interim Environmental Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of environmental aspects of an accredited management system (accredited to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001).
- Collaborate with the internal audit team, providing technical advice, reviewing audits, and delivering training as an active member of the internal audit steering group.
- Manage and maintain Environmental Permits and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Support and manage PFAS emission monitoring and reduction in line with business objectives and external requirements.
- Support the PFAS team with a focus on current regulations (UK & EU), environmental permit compliance, emissions monitoring, and mitigation.
- Act as a key member for projects that impact environmental performance or compliance with legal requirements, ensuring compliance with planning permission processes.
- Participate in Site Safety Committee meetings as required.
- Lead on all planning applications associated with site activity.
Requirements:
- Environmental Management (ideally degree level).
- IEMA Associate Member / IOSH Member or equivalent.
- Expert understanding of standards relating to environmental management.
- Proven experience of working with an environmental function.
- Experience of manufacturing, preferably on a COMAH site.
- Experience of implementing and maintaining environmental management systems.
- Knowledge of Polymer processing or Chemical environment would be advantageous.
- Ability to influence and persuade without direct line authority.
- Self-motivated and able to plan, manage, influence, and work with minimum supervision/input.
- Good communication skills are essential.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and Management Systems).
What We Offer:
A competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, healthcare, pension, and life assurance.
