IT Software License Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Software License Manager to join our Global IT team at Victrex. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our enterprise software licensing portfolio.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity that offers a competitive salary range of £32,000 to £42,000 per annum, based on experience. Our benefits package includes 29 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a competitive pension scheme with employer contributions of up to 14%, annual bonus scheme, share options, and private medical insurance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain an accurate inventory of all software licenses, agreements, and associated documentation.
- Monitor software usage across the organization to ensure compliance with license agreements.
- Regularly audit software installations and usage to identify over- or under-licensing situations.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, ensuring favourable terms and conditions in licensing agreements.
- Negotiate license renewals, new purchases, and contract amendments to optimize costs and terms.
- Collaborate with procurement to evaluate and select software vendors.
- Ensure compliance with software licensing terms to mitigate the risk of legal penalties and fines.
- Stay updated on software licensing trends, changes in licensing models, and relevant legal issues.
- Respond to and manage software license audits initiated by vendors.
- Analyse software usage data to identify opportunities for cost savings, including reducing underutilized licenses.
- Implement processes for reclaiming unused licenses and reallocating them to areas of need.
- Provide financial forecasting related to software licensing costs for budget planning.
- Generate regular reports on software usage, compliance status, and cost analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on license usage data and industry trends.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to support audit and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures for software license management.
- Continuously review and improve software license management processes to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Train and educate internal stakeholders on software licensing policies and compliance requirements.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience of working with software asset management products and IT procurement processes. You will have proven industry knowledge and familiarity with IT software products and services. An understanding of software license models and vendor contracts is also required.
The successful applicant will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication capabilities. You will be qualified or studying towards a degree-level qualification in a business or IT-related discipline.
