Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist

As a Purchasing & Stores Assistant at Victrex, you will play a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient procurement and inventory management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, ordering, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with internal processes and health and safety standards.
- Managing critical spare parts inventory worth £6.5 million and coordinating the repair process for key engineering spares.
- Conducting stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
- Supporting manufacturing plants by sourcing goods and services during critical production outages to minimize downtime.
- Collaborating with engineers to source goods and services for new assets and processes, translating engineering drawings and specifications for suppliers.
- Driving continuous improvement, identifying ways to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Contributing to the wider procurement team's annual savings target through effective negotiation.
- Ensuring data accuracy within the purchasing and inventory management systems and managing new supplier setup processes.
Key performance indicators include:
- Responsible for managing £6.5 million in inventory.
- Supporting annual savings targets for the procurement team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering background.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in purchasing/inventory management software (SAP/D365).
- A forklift truck license is desirable.
GCSEs (A-C) in Maths and English are required.
