Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

As a Purchasing & Stores Assistant at Victrex, you will play a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing operations by ensuring efficient procurement and inventory management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, ordering, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with internal processes and health and safety standards.
  • Managing critical spare parts inventory worth £6.5 million and coordinating the repair process for key engineering spares.
  • Conducting stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
  • Supporting manufacturing plants by sourcing goods and services during critical production outages to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborating with engineers to source goods and services for new assets and processes, translating engineering drawings and specifications for suppliers.
  • Driving continuous improvement, identifying ways to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Contributing to the wider procurement team's annual savings target through effective negotiation.
  • Ensuring data accuracy within the purchasing and inventory management systems and managing new supplier setup processes.
Key Metrics:

Key performance indicators include:

  • Responsible for managing £6.5 million in inventory.
  • Supporting annual savings targets for the procurement team.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in purchasing or inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in purchasing/inventory management software, such as SAP or D365.
  • A forklift truck license is desirable.
Qualifications:

GCSEs (A-C) in Maths and English are required.
