About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Public Relations and Fundraising Specialist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving positive media coverage for our charity, supporting effective reactive media relations, and responding to media requests/calls from journalists as appropriate.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a proactive media relations strategy to promote the charity's profile and achievements.
  • Assist with the administration of email and letter correspondence, as well as event planning.
  • Work autonomously, supporting the maintenance and promotion of the charity's profile amongst staff, patients, stakeholders, media, and the general public.
Requirements
  • Educated to a degree in a related area (communications, marketing, PR, journalism) or equivalent work experience in a communications/marketing environment.
  • Professional qualifications in marketing, PR or journalism.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Understanding of best practice and industry standards around writing for digital and online audiences, including blogs, websites, and online publications.
  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Media/Communication skills Knowledge of communications, public relations or marketing theory and practice.
